Emotions Management for children

Useful approaches to talk about emotions

Description

Kimochi means “feeling” in Japanese. These are communication tools (characters) designed to give children the knowledge, skills and attitude they need to recognize and manage their emotions, to demonstrate caring and concern for others, and to establish positive relationships, make responsible decisions and handle challenging situations constructively.

Activity’s Philosophy

We don’t aim to find a solution to emotions or to make them disappear. Our purpose is to identify, name and express them, and to overlook them.

Children should be able to observe adults in the “practice”. It is an important key to success.

Target Public

3-12 year-old children

Expected Results

Children learn to:

  • Handle emotions positively

  • Be caring, respectful, responsible, resilient and kind to yourself and to others

  • Experience stronger relationships: child-to-child, parent-to-child and teacher-to-child.

  • Handle pression and conflicts with peers

  • Give and become the best of you.
